The Final Blog Post - The Feisty House

This is my last blog post on The Feisty House.

I started writing this post during my vacation in Italy. On our first night there, I wasn’t asleep five minutes before I jumped out of bed and woke up my husband to tell him that I was going to stop blogging and had decided to write my last blog post from Rome.

He didn’t ask me why, but did ask if I was okay. A second or two of introspection confirmed that I was totally fine with ending things here. It was the moment I realized that I believed in something enough to end my eight-year relationship with this blog to which I’ve consistently devoted so much of myself.

The Final Blog Post - The Feisty House

A few weeks ago, I shared on Instagram that I’m leaving my job at the end of 2017 to launch The Well, a collaborative co-working community for creative and entrepreneurial women. My mission in creating The Well is to put relationships at the heart of work by facilitating opportunities for women of color to develop meaningful connections with other women as they launch their own businesses. It’s a co-working space, but it’s also Small Group with your office mates on Saturdays…and guided meditation in the mornings before work…and it’s networking at the #dreamjobBRUNCH…and evening dinners for members who work late or prefer to work nights…and it’s knowing that your office mates and The Well staff are rooting for you, praying for you, and introducing you to other women who want to help you succeed. The Well is self-care, it’s mentoring, it’s business training, it’s getting you in front of investors, it’s building your tribe.

This is my vision. This is my singular goal. And while I also love writing The Feisty House, I can’t do both.

The Final Blog Post - The Feisty House

The Feisty House has been more fulfilling than I thought writing a blog could ever be. In the eight years since I launched this space, I’ve discovered my true passion for supporting creative women entrepreneurs. Without The Feisty House, I wouldn’t have been able to develop the concept for The Well. This blog gave me opportunities to meet amazing people and partner with amazing brands. My blog has served as a resume, and blogging so consistently for so many years has made me an expert at creating engaging, “sticky” content. Most importantly, blogging gave me an outlet to share my passions, including my faith in God, with so many encouraging and uplifting women all over the world.

I do intend to keep the blog up and running, but I will no longer post new content here. I just launched my personal website, krystalelaine.com, and I will continue to share all sorts of lifestyle, beauty, style faith and entrepreneurship inspiration via my Thursday emails (if you’re not getting emails yet, sign up at krystalelaine.com/newsletter). And, because I believe in transparency and documenting the journey, I’m sharing the ins and outs of launching The Well on Instagram and Twitter (find me in both places @byKrystalElaine now and @TheWell__Space once we launch).

I am 100 percent at peace with closing this chapter, and I will always treasure this experience. The Feisty House was my labor of love, and I enjoyed sharing bits and pieces of my life, and the things that have inspired me along the way, with all of you.

Onward and Upward.

Krystal Elaine

  • Congrats on your new chapter!

  • Get it girl!!! Love your new direction and can’t wait to learn all about the Well!!

  • It’s weird. Like, here’s this thing that become an extension of myself, and then one day, God said “You can stop now. I have something bigger for you to do.” There are moments I feel a bit sad (like when I look at the site and how beautiful it is…I’m REALLY proud of that), but you’re 110% right: this decision has come with its own brand of peace. I am so thankful that I have clear insight into my purpose. It is a gift and a blessing and I’m so thankful that I’m heading in this. I hope you can come and see The Well in action! By the grace of God, I’d love to have something to test next summer…see you then?

XO. You have been nothing but love and light for ME for YEARS. Thank you #BloggerBoo!

  • Nina, you already know how I feel about your comment. You are the epitome of what I hoped would be my impact. Thank you for letting me know that I accomplished what I set out to do!

  • Crystal Boateng

This sounds awesome!! I’m so excited for you for what God has done in your life and proud of the big leap that you have taken. I have been following this blog probably the whole 8 years as a quiet lurker. I’ve recently had a daughter as well 🙂 I wish you the best and will follow on your other platforms. Congrats for embracing change #upwardandforward.
