Who doesn’t love a good selfie? I rarely post selfies, but there are days when I go a bit overboard and take 10-12 photos of myself at one time. Those days are good hair days! And when you have a good hair day and also have good light? Well, that’s where the magic happens…
My best hair days are when my curls look like they have character. They’re a little wild, a little messy, a little crazy, but 100% me. It’s been almost a full year since the last time I straightened my hair, and that’s honestly because these days I am really loving my curls. I used to straighten my hair whenever I was bored with my curls and needed a change, or when I was frustrated with my curly hair, or when I wanted to see how long it really was. But these days I don’t feel the need to straighten my hair at all. My curls are the furthest thing from boring, I’ve been taking GREAT care of my hair so I haven’t been frustrated with it at all, and as far as length, I’m liking my little curly fro.
I am totally content with my curls. I actually became more confident after my big chop in May. How awesome would it be if we all felt that way about our natural hair? That’s why I’m so pleased that Dove Hair is focusing on curls. The brand recently introduced a new hair care line for women with kinky, curly and wavy hair, and now Dove Hair is introducing the Dove Love Your Curls Emojis – the first emoji keyboard designed to represent curly girls everywhere.
I didn’t even realize that there wasn’t a curly-haired emoji until Dove Hair released the Love Your Curls Emoji Keyboard. Actually, I did realize, but there also weren’t any emojis for women of color until a few months ago, so I didn’t think anything of it. We still live in a “one size fits all” type of world even though it’s obvious that we all come in different shades, shapes and yes, hair textures. That’s why it’s awesome that a brand like Dove Hair is working to ensure that we all accept and celebrate our unique beauty. Dove Hair will also be partnering with Twitter so each time women and girls share a #LoveYourCurls moment, a custom Dove Curly Emoji will appear in the tweet!
Download the Dove Love Your Curls Emojis in the App Store and Google Play Store to show you #LoveYourCurls! And share a “good hair day” selfie using the #LoveYourCurls hashtag. I can’t wait to see your lovely locks!
