Have you heard of Choix? It’s a monthly beauty subscription box that I had the opportunity to test drive. I know what you’re thinking…not another subscription service. But hear me out! This one is actually unique. At Choix (French for “choice”) you get to choose the samples you want (I told you it was unique). That means you’re not going to get a random assortment of concealers and foundations and lipsticks in colors that may or may not work for your skin (#BLACKGIRLPROBLEMS). You’re going to choose exactly what you want to try, and Choix will send you samples of those products in the colors that you choose.
Once you choose the products you want to sample, Choix measures out enough of each to apply directly on your face. You get the samples in these little jars that actually hold a lot more than I thought they would. And then you can test designer makeup on your face, at home, without buying the full-sized bottle and returning it to Target or Sephora when you realize it doesn’t actually match your complexion.
I think Choix is a game-changer. I was able to test out concealers and foundation (a total of five samples) without any hassle (waiting in line at a crowded beauty counter for my turn to try a foundation on the back of my hand) or commitment (being stuck with products that don’t match my skin’s tone or type).
You can get a Choix subscription for $20 a month that includes five samples, free shipping and $10 worth of store credit (so you can buy the products you sampled and liked!) I’m hoping they expand into natural hair products. Can you imagine? How amazing would it be to actually choose the hair products you want to sample and then get enough for like, two washes or styling sessions? Ahhhhh, that would be amazing!
Many thanks to Choix for allowing to me to test out a complimentary makeup kit. The views/opinions shared here are 100% my own (yes, I really do think Choix is a game changer). I am not affiliated with Choix, and I won’t receive any commission if you subscribe. Thanks for supporting the brands that work with blogs like The Feisty House!
