STYLE | Layered Up

November 17, 2014

You ever just NEED to get out of the house? I feel like we’ve been running errands and fixing up the apartment every. single. weekend. So finally this weekend I told Q we’d be getting out and doing something that had nothing to do with chores. So went out to Columbus Circle and discovered a new Thai spot.

I kept it casual in an AYR sweater, flannel top and skinny jeans. I like this look: it’s a great way to wear layers without looking bulky. I tried to be fancy and curl my hair (I just had it cut into layers last week), but it was windy out, and I haven’t really nailed the whole curling hair with a flat iron thing, so…

It’s getting cold out there. I was out of my coat, scarf and mittens for only about 10 minutes, and I couldn’t wait to put everything back on. Thai food was a good idea. We had soup and red curry and I got what I always get (chicken pad see ew). Then we had enough energy to do some browsing at Columbus Circle. I stepped into H&M for the first time in months. I bought jewelry (there’s some cute stuff there!) and the same jeans I’m wearing in these photos, just in gray…and one size smaller.

I’m probably smaller because I worked out to get ready for the wedding, but I’m not good at being consistent with exercise. At all (I haven’t worked out since the wedding). I really want to get better about staying fit and doing consistent exercise. I’m starting a new fitness routine this week that should make me more flexible (I’m pretty sure my Grandma is more flexible than I am) and strengthen my core, and I’m hoping it will be easier to be consistent because I can do a lot of the work at home! That’s pretty clutch, because I hate going to the gym when it’s cold out. I’ll share more on the blog soon…

Happy Monday!

    • Thank you, Mama! Oh, I know it’s the worst. But wait for my fitness post…I’ll think you’ll like it, especially during the winter. It may get you motivated again!

And not because of me because I’m not particularly motivating, lol. The workout I found is actually pretty amazing!

  • Girl, it’s a struggle to go the gym in the cold, it’s a struggle to go to the gym in the heat lol. It’s just a struggle. I’m trying to work on that, I’ve gained about 8 lbs in love weight recently, which I love, but I’d like to control where it goes and I think I can do that with some exercise. Antways, you look GOOD! Love your smile and your hair <3

  • you’ve got that marriage glow going lol.
also, stay away from the flat iron. i can go two weeks without touching one. secret: pin curling.

    • Yep, I pincurl too! I’ve had issues with heat damage before, so trust, I won’t be repeating those mistakes again =)
