I bought this Zara dress one day when I had nothing to wear. Literally. All of my clothes had been packed for the move, and I found out I had a huge meeting the next day. So I ran into Zara and bought the dress with every intention of bringing it back…and then I tried it on. It’s been a staple every since.

I was getting dressed for work one morning this week and took these just to test the lighting in our new apartment. It’s pretty fab (these were taken on an overcast day). I think I’ll start taking my outfit photos in the house during the week. Whenever you see my outfit shots on the blog, you’re seeing me out and about on the weekends (which is how I prefer to have my photos taken…being active and in the moment). But you all never get to see what I wear day in day out, which is why you all must think I have a lot of clothes.
Truth is…I wear the same things all the time. For reals. I just try to “remix” my outfits every single day. My goal is to never wear the same outfit twice, so I change my shoes, wear a different shirt underneath the same blazer, and sometimes I put together really random combinations so that I always feel like I’m wearing something different. In the purest sense, I really do shop my closet. I love buying new things, but I only buy things I love and that I know I’ll be able to wear over and over again with what I already have, so I honestly don’t do as much shopping as you might think!
So I I’ll start taking advantage of this apartment’s good light and take my weekday “9-to-5” outfit shots indoors. That’s got to be better than my infamous bathroom-at-work pics on Instagram.
Oh, and here’s a little bit of our new kitchen! It’s looking pretty lived-in now. I love our new place. Every day I walk up those six flights of stairs and I’m mad, but when I step through the door, It’s totally worth it. We have all of our furniture and stuff, but we still haven’t done much decorating. Hopefully we’re done in a few weeks and I can share our little home (emphasis on little) and our crazy testimony of how we got it (emphasis on crazy) with all of you!
