Yasmin Sewell is a major style (and business) inspiration of mine. At only 22 years old, she opened her own store in London, and stocked some of the best up-and-coming designers before anyone else was even interested in them. In 2006, she became the executive buyer at Brown’s in London, launching the careers of Nicholas Kirkwood, Christopher Kane and Acne. Now she runs her own fashion and lifestyle consultancy, Yasmin Sewell Ltd, and has partnered with her husband to run Paper Mache Tiger, a wholesale fashion distribution agency. Yeah, she’s basically living out my dream career. It’s amazing to see what she’s been able to accomplish!
Yasmin has quickly become something of a street style “darling,” and for good reason. No one does menswear like Yasmin. I love that she can wear men’s blazers, bowler hats and oversized coats, and yet still look ultra-feminine. She has a cool girl vibe that I’m obsessed with, and I’d wear just about everything Yasmin has in her closet (I’m not too keen on her penchant for sandals and socks though…I’ll never be able to get into that). She also doesn’t have to wear a ton of colors at once in order to keep her outfits interesting. Instead, Yasmin relies on layering to add dimension to her ensembles. She is a layering pro! Definitely check out more of Yasmin’s style if you’re not into wearing multiple colors or prints at a time, but still want to create a dynamic outfit.
