A Casual Dinner

June 24, 2013

Lately, my weekends have become my time to work really hard on my new business. There are two projects I’m working on right now, both set to drop in the fall. I really wanted to have one start up this summer, but running a business and working a full-time job…it’s hard work! So I’m pacing myself in order to make sure I have the best launch and can share really great products!

While I normally work through the weekends, I decided to take this past weekend “off.” I didn’t do any work, and I think the downtime really helped. If I’ve learned nothing from my Adventist upbringing, it’s that we NEED to take time out to rest our minds. You can’t live life going full speed ahead every single day. You need to check in with yourself and with the Lord. It’s so necessary.

Quentin and I went for sushi with one of my coworkers and her boyfriend on the Upper West Side. Good food and conversation–all one really needs on a Sunday evening. I was planning on wearing my new double split maxi dress from Urban Outfitters, which I’ve had for weeks and have not had the opportunity to wear yet, but it seemed a bit much for an informal dinner, so I went for jeans and a tee instead.

Soooo…I basically wore this exact outfit the day before (don’t judge me). We went to a “birthDAY” party, and I wore a different crop top, but the same jeans and heels. I’m notorious for wearing the same things over and over, but I don’t think I’ve ever come this close to literally duplicating an outfit the very next day. I mean, it’s not like we were with the same people, so…it’s all good, right?
