I had the fantastic opportunity to attend a fundraiser for President Obama last Friday. It was such an amazing experience. I live in Washington, D.C., I’ve lobbied Capitol Hill, and I’m definitely a policy wonk. The RNC and DNC were like the opening of football season for me. Politics is my favorite sport, and right now, I am a huge fan of the Democrats.

That said, I am first and foremost a fan of Jesus Christ. For many, the Democratic party and Christianity are mutually exclusive, but as a Christian myself, I’d have to disagree. Christ taught a message of love for all, including minorities, the poor, women & children, and those who cannot help themselves. That is a message that I find is more prevalent among Democrats than Republicans. So yes, I am a Christian, and I will vote Democrat in November.

You go girl! You hit the nail on the heat with both your outfit and your philosophical outlook!

  • can’t believe that dress was $19.99! it’s a winner!

  • that is the life i lived in another life. i love DC and politics. if i wouldn’t have settled down so early, i would be doing just what you’re doing. i agree with the christian message of having love for everyone (w/ no judgments).

but Christ avoided politics. he retreated to the mountains when they tried to make him king and refused the devil’s offer to have all the kingdoms of the world in return for an act of worship.

i don’t understand how some can pick and choose what they believe and follow when they say they are “Christian”. This isn’t a personal attack on you Krystle, just venting pent up frustrations that i’ve reserved for so many election years now.

  • Christ taught to love all, but he also laid out specific laws, and made it clear that everyone will be judged based on actions and choices. This is not meant to get into a debate of right/wrong, because I believe that Christ’s grace covers all of our sins and that no one person is perfect. However, I do think there are some views in the democratic party (Ex. abortion, same-sex marriage) that don’t align with the Bible.
