National Arboretum

June 20, 2012

I have decided to spend this summer getting out to all the “touristy” D.C. spots that I haven’t yet visited. Thanks to a recent Refinery29 post, turns out there are a lot of places I haven’t been to yet! D.C. is such a great city. There’s so much to do!

One Saturday I spent the afternoon at the National Arboretum. It was so serene and such a nice day. I brought a bag lunch, my prayer journal and my camera. I spent about an hour or so reading and praying and writing. It feels so good to connect with God while surrounded by nature. I loved it! Then I went on a self-guided tour of the grounds, camera in tow.

I can definitely foresee the National Arboretum becoming one of my most-frequented spots in D.C. It’s really close to my house, and the scenery is amazing (I took a ton of pictures). Q and I really like going to parks, especially on Saturdays when I visit him in NY. Now I know where we’re going when he visits me =)
